Brewery to Release Oktoberfest and Keller Pils Simultaneously

Washington, DC — July 2019 — Prost! DC Brau is celebrating the return of two of the brewery’s most popular German-style offerings, Oktoberfest and Keller Pils, with a Brau-style Oktoberfest celebration at the brewery on Saturday, August 17th from 1 to 6 pm. The parking lot will be turned into an outdoor beer garden complete with live oompah music, brats, and special Braus (of course)!

“We love our German lagers as much as we love our heavily-hopped American ales. We’ve honed the recipe for our Oktoberfestbier over the last several years to make it one of the best fall offerings out there,” says Brewmaster & Co-Founder of DC Brau Jeff Hancock. “But let’s be honest, this is just a great excuse to get together with friends and family to raise a stein of elegantly balanced, malt-forward amber lager to welcome in the changing of the seasons.”

DC Brau’s Oktoberfest has a classic light amber to copper hue that is topped with intense German malt aromas of toasty bread, light caramel, and faint biscuit. It’s supported by a traditionally light Noble hop aroma that complements the rich malty notes. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a medium body that gives it a pleasing richness. The hops perfectly complement the dominant malt character to form a very refreshing 5.5% ABV Oktoberfestbier that can be enjoyed all through the fall months.

In addition to pouring the Oktoberfest in the beer garden the afternoon of the 17th, the team has rebrewed a limited run of its popular unfiltered Keller Pils (available throughout the District starting in late August) which will be on tap along with Cha Cha Cha Weisenbock (previously released as Total Victory for Jimmy Valentine’s) and El Hefe Speaks! The tasting room will also be open for growler hours that day until 6pm.

Tickets for the Oktoberfest Bash are available online at A limited number of VIP tickets are available in advance for $60 per person, which includes early entry to the beer garden at noon that day, as well as all-you-can-eat German-style food from Smoke & Ember, two beer tickets and a souvenir beer stein. General admission tickets, which include a plate of food from Smoke & Ember, one beer ticket and a stein, cost $40 each. For friends and family members of all ages who are not imbibing, a Non-Drinker ticket is available for $20 that includes a plate of food from Smoke & Ember, a non-alcoholic beverage and entry into the beer garden. This is an all-ages event, but guests must be 21 or older with valid ID to consume beer.
